were impacted, with a population of 133,000 affected, 610 houses damaged, and 150,000 people seeking
refuge in cyclone shelters, along with damage to 3 points of the embankment. Galachipa saw 7 unions
affected, with 150,000 people impacted, 715 houses damaged, and 125,000 people in shelters, with 4
points of embankment damage. In Rangabali, 6 unions were affected, impacting 103,000 people,
damaging 8,012 houses, and displacing 55,000 people, with 6 points of embankment damage. The urgent
needs across these areas include dry food, temporary shelters, latrines, and dignity kits.
Cyclone Remal has significantly impacted the coastal district of Bagerhat in Bangladesh. In Bagerhat
Sadar, 10 unions were affected, with 90,565 people impacted, 1,800 houses damaged, and 100,000 people
seeking shelter, along with damage to 12 points of the embankment. Mongla saw 6 unions affected,
impacting 68,000 people, damaging 6,624 houses, and displacing 65,000 people, with 15 points of
embankment damage. In Sarankhola, 4 unions were affected, with 80,000 people impacted, 1,105 houses
damaged, and 55,000 people in shelters, with 2 points of embankment damage. Rampla experienced
damage in 10 unions, affecting 42,350 people, damaging 1,410 houses, and displacing 20,750 people,
with 7 points of embankment damage. Across these areas, there is an urgent need for dry food, temporary
shelters, latrines, and dignity kits.
Cyclone Remal has caused extensive damage in the coastal district of Khulna, Bangladesh. In Dacope, 10
unions were affected, impacting 118,212 people, damaging 205,005 houses, and displacing 90,000 people
who take shelter in cyclone shelters, with 7 points of embankment damage. Paikgacha also saw 10 unions
affected, with a population of 157,220, 14,041 houses damaged, and 50,000 people taking shelter, along
with 5 points of embankment damage. In Koyra, 6 unions were affected, with 120,000 people impacted,
30,000 houses damaged, and 60,000 people in shelters, with 12 points of embankment damage. The
urgent needs across these areas include dry food, temporary shelters, latrines, and dignity kits.

unions were affected, with a population of 157,682. The cyclone damaged 541 houses, forcing 84,000
people to take shelter in cyclone shelters and damaging 11 points of the embankment. Kaligonj saw 12
unions affected, with 15,150 people impacted, 520 houses damaged, and 20,110 people in shelters, along
with 3 points of embankment damage. In Debhata, 4 unions were affected, with 845 people impacted, 25
houses damaged, and 12,050 people in shelters, with 1 square kilometer of embankment damage.
Assasuni experienced damage in 11 unions, affecting 47,280 people, damaging 1,400 houses, with 70,000
people in shelters and 6 points of embankment damage. Across these areas, emergency needs include dry
food, temporary shelters, latrines, and dignity kits

damaging 8,012 houses, and displacing 55,000 people, with 6 points of embankment damage. The urgent
needs across these areas include dry food, temporary shelters, latrines, and dignity kits.
Cyclone Remal has greatly affected the coastal district of Bhola in Bangladesh. In Charfession 11 Union under water Dhalchar, Nazrul Nagar, Charkukrimukri, Charmanika specially affected, Damage to 20 km embankment in Bhola, suffering 2 lakh people. The chairman of this union claimed that there was the most damage in South Sakuchia Union of Manpura Upazila in the cyclone. Aliullah Kajal said, “At least three kilometers of embankment of this union has been damaged by the flow of tidal water from Sunday night to Monday evening.“Among these, the embankment has broken at South Sea Beach Point, East side of Nooruddin Market, East side of Dhali Market and South side of North Taltala Market.”Two lakh 23 thousand 303 people were affected in Cyclone Remale district. 5 thousand 158 houses were partially destroyed; And 2 thousand 465 were completely destroyed. Deputy Director of Bhola Agricultural Extension Directorate said. Warisul Kabir said that five thousand hectares of rice paddy and 10 thousand 791 hectares of vegetables have been damaged in this district due to the rampage of Remal. The amount of which is about 48 crore 52 lakh taka.Bhola District Fisheries Officer Mr. Biswajit Dev said that 756 tons of fish in 9,928 ponds and 1,439 enclosures in the district were washed away due to high tide; The price of which is about 12 crore 69 lakh taka. In addition, 11.6 tons of shrimp were washed away; The price of which is one crore seven lakh taka. Damage to infrastructure is Rs. 1.6 million. 184 fishing boats were damaged.
Due to cyclone Rimal, 1 lakh 80 thousand 481 farmer families have been affected in 6 districts of Barisal division.The information sent from the Additional Director’s office to the Barisal Divisional Commissioner said that there are 170,000 marginal, small and medium farmers among the affected farmer families. And 90 thousand 798 hectares of cropland has been partially damaged due to natural calamities and heavy rains in the division. And 2 thousand 789 hectares of land has been completely damaged. In addition, there is a possibility of partial to complete damage to crops of 15 thousand 489 hectares of land. As a result, 18 thousand 209 hectares of cropland will be completely damaged. Meanwhile, the affected crops include Aush (including seeds and plantations), Chinese almonds, chillies, mung beans, sesame, green vegetables, jute, betel nut, banana, papaya and other fruits. And it is estimated that the amount of loss in production will be about 1 lakh 70 thousand metric tons.
Barguna: The number of flood-affected people in different areas of Barguna is around five lakh. 37 of them were injured. Apart from this, 1 person was killed while trying to remove the tree that fell on the house after the cyclone. 3 thousand 374 houses were completely destroyed and 13 thousand 34 houses were partially damaged in the district due to the impact of the cyclone. In total 5 upazilas including Barguna Sadar upazila, 13 points embankment of 11 unions were damaged and around 12 km embankment was broken. About 3 hundred villages have been flooded. 6 thousand hectares of cropland has been damaged. 4 thousand 157 hectares of fish and shrimp enclosures were flooded. Cyclone Remal has caused extensive damage in Barguna. Due to the storm, the dams in different areas of the district have overflowed and the houses have collapsed due to the stormy winds. About 500,000 people in more than 300 villages have been affected.
7,000 houses damaged by Cyclone Remal in Pirojpur; 72 thousand people are stuck in water. Due to the impact of the cyclone, 7000 houses have been damaged and 72000 people are under water in Pirojpur district. More than 7 thousand hectares of cropland has been destroyed. According to the District Agriculture Extension Department, over 7,000 hectares of crops including vegetables have been damaged in Pirojpur due to Cyclone Remal.
The river banks of Pirojpur Sadar, Mathbaria, Indurkani, Kaukhali, Swarupkathi, Bhandaria and Nazirpur areas have breached embankments and tidal water has entered the localities. Water is entering the locality from more than 1500 meters in these areas. Floodwaters three to five feet high have formed.

affected districts and sharing its development partners.
● Communication: CRMF staff and volunteers emergency communicating with district,
Upazila and union level disaster management committee for collecting SOS and D form.
● Psycho-social counseling: Conducting awareness counseling with the affected people to stay safe at
the cyclone shelter and providing support to return back to own house where possible.
● Dignity Kits Distribution: CRMF is distributing dry-food and water among most affected families.
● Situation monitoring: Always monitoring and updating the field situation.
● Preparedness and response planning: Developing a detailed Remal cyclone preparedness and
response plan with the development partners.
● Ready to help the effected people with local administration, donor agency and local organizations.
